Virtuoso tuba player Carl Ludwig Hubsch is making a first-time visit to Portland as he tours the US. He's long been a part of the vibrant Cologne jazz and improv scene and works with cats like Frank Gratkowski, Axel Doerner, Matthias Schubert and many others. He's been a part of Lester Bowie's Brass Fantasy and groups led by Arthur Blythe.
For this performance he will present a set of solo work for tuba and then will be joined by Jonathan Sielaff (Bb+bass clarinets) and Tyler Wilcox (sop. sax).

DETAILS: this concert is being presented by Brad Winter, Jonathan Sielaff and Paul Middendorf and will take place at 8pm on Saturday May 3 (this saturday) at GALLERY HOMELAND (2505 SE 11th Ave./ at Division). ALL AGES. FREE ADMISSION (donations to the artist encouraged-but all are welcome).
